Three new eDemocracy case studies from Switzerland16 May, 2009
|By Allison Orr|
This study looks at three eDemocracy case studies from Switzerland, each falling into three distinct stages of the democratic process: (1) the Smartvote system looks at the pre-voting stage; (2) a study of the implementation of Electronic Voting; (3) the post-voting stage looks at the use of blogs by elected candidates in the Swiss government.
The report builds on substantial anecdotal evidence to assess the actual and potential implications of these uses of the Internet on democratic processes. The evidence shows that these tools hold promising opportunities for citizens and democracy in Switzerland.
