John Edwards on MTV/MySpace dialogue

04 October, 2007

A couple of months ago, MTV and MySpace announced that they would host forums with the US presidential candidates, and on 27 September the first of these went ahead with John Edwards.

The organizers touted this forum as the first truly interactive political dialogue, allowing online users of MySpace.com and MTV.com to submit real time questions to the candidates and rate the candidate’s response to individual questions.

According to the WashingtonPost.com’s Political Blog, Edwards was well received by the crowd and was able to explain in depth his policy positions on such issues as Iraq, poverty, health care and global warming.  The forum was streamed live on MTV.com and MySpace.com.

You can see some video footage of the forum at the Washington Post’s blog page.
