Create Mitt Romney’s TV campaign ad online

04 September, 2007
By Allison Orr

The Romney for President campaign team has formed a partnership with video-sharing website Jumpcut to launch the Create Your Own Ad contest.  While the contest is based online and is directed towards Web 2.0 users, unlike other web-based campaign contests it has a \"real life\" prize – the winning ad will become the campaign’s new official advertisement and run on television.

Anyone can enter and the Jumpcut website provides images, video and audio clips for use, but other materials can also be used subject to suitability and copyright.  According to the contest website, the ad can have any theme you like, as long as you support the campaign \"creatively and responsibly.\"

\"This contest demonstrates Romney for President\'s commitment to using unique and democratizing online tools to engage voters and harness the extraordinary enthusiasm of its growing team of supporters,\" says Alex Castellanos, Senior Adviser and media strategist to Governor Romney.
