CNN/YouTube Republican Debate saved by bloggers15 August, 2007

Despite some indications that it would not go ahead, the CNN/YouTube debate for Republican presidential candidates has been rescheduled to 28 November, due largely to an online effort by conservative bloggers.
A website called Save the Debate ran a petition and got conservative bloggers behind the campaign to reschedule the debate.
According to a Save the Debate press release, “it was pressure from conservative bloggers, not scheduling conflicts, that made the reluctant Republican candidates reconsider.”
The Save the Debate website will remain active, encouraging all Republicans to participate in the debate by asking video questions.
