Queensland: Local Government Association fights back through YouTube18 July, 2007

The Local Government Association of Queensland, the peak body representing local government in Queensland in its dealings with other governments, unions, business and the community, is using YouTube to spread its message to its constituents.
The association has produced a 38-second video, entitled “It’s just not cricket” as a response to the Queensland Government’s $1.45 million campaign advertising their forced council amalgamations. The video, which cost only $2,500 to make, is an example of how smaller organisations are using YouTube to respond on issues of importance via new media.
