New ABS Report: Internet Activity Survey

19 June, 2007
By Allison Orr

The Australian Bureau of Statistic has released its Internet Activity Survey, which collects details on services provided by large Internet Service Providers in Australia as at 31 March 2007.

The statistics show that at that date, there were 6.43 million active Internet subscribers, the majority of which are household subscribers.  The report also finds that there has been an increase in non dial-up services of 16% since the last survey in September 2006, mostly driven by household subscribers moving from dial-up access.  The majority of those non dial-up subscribers are using Digital Subscriber Line (DSL).

The next survey results will be available in Feburary 2008.  For past survey results, see Past Releases.
